Woman to face drug, firearms charges
JONESBORO — A $5,000 bond was set Thursday for a local woman arrested Wednesday on suspicion of drug and firearms-related offenses.
Keatra Loyd, 34, 898 Craighead 339, Jonesboro, appeared before District Judge Keith Blackman during a probable cause hearing Thursday.
Loyd was arrested after Officer James Palmer did a traffic stop on a black Dodge pickup truck in the Demo’s parking lot on Church Street.
Palmer did a probation search on Loyd and in the truck, finding a .22-caliber rifle and suspected pseudoephedrine in the vehicle, police said.
Loyd was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (pseudoephedrine) with intent to manufacture, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by certain persons and possession of an instrument of crime.
Loyd will be arraigned Dec. 28 in Craighead County Circuit Court at Jonesboro.
In other hearings Thursday:
• Probable cause was found to charge Randy Smith, no age available, of 1504 Brazos St., Jonesboro, with theft of a credit card, breaking or entering and fraudulent use of a credit card. Smith, who will be arraigned Dec. 28, was being held in the Craighead County Detention Center in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
• Probable cause was found to charge Lacrisha Kay Arender, no age available, of 1504 Brazos St., Jonesboro with hindering apprehension. A $3,500 bond was set for Arender, who will be arraigned Dec. 28 in Circuit Court.

Apartment of physician burglarized
JONESBORO — A Jonesboro physician reported the theft of several items from his apartment Wednesday to police here.
Dr. William McAlexander, 704 Olive St., No. 4, told Officer Michael McCanless that the front door had been kicked in and property taken, including a 52-inch television set, DVD player and pistol, valued at a total of $2,050. Damage to the doorway was estimated at $100.
In other cases:
• Super D Drug Store, 533 West Nettleton Ave., Jonesboro — a store representative reported a possible forgery to obtain medication. The employee told Officer Darrell Martin that the suspect said the prescription came from Clopton Clinic. The employee called the clinic and “was advised ... that the prescription was not valid and not to fill it.”
• Leslie Lamb, 3524 Leslie Ann Drive, Apt. 3, Jonesboro — said someone cut the tires on her vehicle parked in front of her residence between Tuesday and Wednesday. There were also scratches to the passenger side. Damage totaled $1,200.
• Rickey Hill, 1805 West Nettleton Ave., Jonesboro — told authorities he lost his wallet at the intersection of Church Street and Nettleton Avenue on Nov. 9 and found later that a debit card contained in the wallet had been used at an Exxon gas station and Bill’s Fresh Market.
• Linda Herren, 905 North Main St., Jonesboro — said her e-mail account was accessed Tuesday, allowing someone to obtain information, including her financial data.
• Brooke Hicks, 1405 Kitchen Circle, Jonesboro — reported the theft of $75 in cash and a wallet from her vehicle parked at 2415 South Madison Ave. on Wednesday.
• Sharon Kizer, 1428 West Huntington Ave., Apt. A, Jonesboro — reported the theft of her purse, keys and credit cards from the parking lot by her residence on Wednesday.
• Becky Wimpy, 639 West Oak St., Jonesboro — said someone took her wallet out of her purse Wednesday at her workplace. The following items were also stolen: sun glasses, reading glasses, prescription medication, cosmetics, two cell phones and the handbag, with property valued at $1,215.
• Derrick Sales, 205 North Rogers St., Jonesboro — reported the theft of two television sets, several video games and damage to one of his home’s door frames, totaling $2,320. The incident happened Wednesday.

Theft reported during fire emergency
JONESBORO — A Craighead County woman said that while people were in her house helping put out a fire, someone stole a bag containing money and other property.
Barbara Griffith, 7373 Craighead 351, said that on Sunday a heater in her home caught fire. She said she ran outside yelling for help, and about eight people responded and entered her home.
Griffith said she later noticed a black leather bag was missing. She said it contained $22 in cash, two silver rings, two bracelets, several prescription medications and a debit card.
She said the bag and items were collectively worth $82.
Two other people reported thefts:
• Jeff McGovern, 616 Craighead 409, Jonesboro — lock, hip boots, Christmas dishes, cast iron cooking ware and a chair collectively worth $150.
• Kevin Myers, 163 Craighead 276, Cash — Copper worth an unknown amount.

Police say they caught campus flasher
JONESBORO — University Police Department Investigator Brian Shelton arrested a man accused of flashing his private parts to three victims on the Arkansas State University campus in recent days.
Brandon Sisler, 23, of 3888 Bridlewood Drive, Jonesboro, was arrested at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of three counts of indecent exposure, Shelton said.
He was believed to be driving a 2001 silver Nissan Sentra on Nov. 11, 12 and 13, the three days victims reported a flasher on campus.
Sisler is scheduled to appear in District Court at 1 p.m. Monday. If convicted, he could be subject to a $1,000 fine and a year in jail on each of the three counts, Shelton said.

JFD firefighters answer seven alarms
JONESBORO — The Jonesboro Fire Department responded to the following alarms during the 24-hour period ending at 6 p.m. Thursday.
• At 8:28 p.m. Wednesday, 3811 East Highland Drive, service call.
• At 11:49 a.m. Thursday, 126 Coleman Drive, natural gas leak.
• At 3:51 p.m. Thursday, 1513 Conway Lane, smoke scare.
Firefighters also responded to four medical assists.
