Driving while intoxicated lands Bono man in jail

JONESBORO — A Bono man was sentenced to 270 days in jail July 16 for a driving while intoxicated conviction in Craighead County District Court.

Judge Keith Blackman imposed the sentence on Darrell R. Parker, 38, 102 Taylor Lane, who also was ordered to pay a $500 fine and $300 in court costs.

Other convictions July 16 include:

• Calvin D. Brown, 19, 2722 Curtview Drive, Jonesboro, theft of property — received three days in jail, six months’ supervised probation and ordered to pay a $250 fine and $120 in court costs.

• Nathan D. Smith, 18, 403 Habitat Cove, Jonesboro, third-degree battery — received one day in jail, six months’ supervised probation and ordered to pay a $350 fine and $370 in court costs.

Those convicted of driving while intoxicated:

• Jeremy M. Harris, 22, 3028 North County Road, Apt. 791, Blytheville — received 40 hours of public service, DWI school and ordered to pay a $500 fine and $300 in court costs.

• Rodney D. Peoples, 31, 304 Gladiolus Drive, Apt. I-7, Jonesboro — received seven days in jail, DWI school and ordered to pay a $500 fine and $300 in court costs.

• Bryan R. Rosse, 20, 1768 Craighead Road 304, Jonesboro — received 40 hours of public service, DWI school and ordered to pay a $500 fine and $300 in court costs.

• Marty E. Wagner, 52, 237 North Bridge St., Jonesboro — received one day in jail, DWI school and ordered to pay a $500 fine and $300 in court costs.

Those convicted of driving under suspension:

• Timothy R. Simmons, 22, 703 Gladiolus Drive, Apt. C-1, Jonesboro — received two days in jail and ordered to pay a $250 fine and $100 in court costs.

• Jason R. Vickers, 32, 12440 Renshaw Lane, Trumann — received 10 days in jail and ordered to pay a $250 fine and $100 in court costs.

Those convicted of possession of drugs without a prescription:

• Kelly E. Cagle, 31, 1303 Oakhurst St., Jonesboro — received 30 days in jail, six months’ supervised probation and ordered to pay a $600 fine and $120 in court costs.

• Robbie L. Juras, 20, 2817 Kristal Drive, Apt. A, Jonesboro — received three days in jail, six months’ supervised probation and ordered to pay a $475 fine and $120 in court costs.

Those convicted of contempt of court-public service work:

• Jeremiah R. Anderson, 24, 405 Melrose St., Apt. D, Jonesboro — received one day in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine, $150 in court costs and $65 in restitution.

• Derrick L. Ferguson, 27, 528 North Main St., Jonesboro — received two days in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine, $150 in court costs and $45 in restitution.

• Darren L. Gathwright, 26, 1405 Pratt Circle, Jonesboro — received two days in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine, $150 in court costs and $45 in restitution.

• Michael R. Nelson, 22, 361 Greene Road 323, Bono — received five days in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine and $150 in court costs.

• Nicholas C. Sparrow, 21, 904 North Main St., Jonesboro — received 36 hours in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine and $150 in court costs.

• Raymond D. Willison, 38, 609 East Johnson Ave., Jonesboro — received 36 hours in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine, $150 in court costs and $45 in restitution.

Those convicted of possession of a controlled substance:

• Annluvina F. Hardrick, 20, Memphis — received three days in jail, six months’ supervised probation and ordered to pay a $475 fine and $120 in court costs.

• Adore P. Haskins, 18, 312 Gilbert St., Jonesboro — received three days in jail, six months’ supervised probation and ordered to pay a $475 fine and $120 in court costs.

• Christopher L. Mitchell, 29, 1421 West Jefferson Ave., Jonesboro — received three days in jail, six months’ supervised probation and ordered to pay a $475 fine and $120 in court costs.

• Matthew S. Pace, 19, Pineville, La. — received 15 days in jail.

• Christopher N. Timms, 24, 310 Carter Cove, Lake City — received three days in jail, six months’ supervised probation and ordered to pay a $475 fine and $120 in court costs.

Those convicted of contempt of court-nonpayment of fine:

• Felicia D. Fleming, 22, 2210 Syble Cove, Apt. 24, Jonesboro — received six days in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine and $150 in court costs.

• Melissa K. Hill, 43, 302 West Monroe Ave., Jonesboro — received three days in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine and $150 in court costs.

• Craig A. Weathers, 24, 1830 East Johnson Ave., Jonesboro — received 15 days in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine and $150 in court costs.

July 15:

• Kimberly M. Parra, 40, Searcy, failure to appear — received 365 days in jail, which were suspended and ordered to pay a $300 fine and $170 in court costs.

• Don Tramel, 49, 118 East Hinkley St., Brookland, possession of a controlled substance — received three days in jail, six months’ supervised probation and ordered to pay a $475 fine and $120 in court costs.

• Brandi Sparks, 22, 7900 Greene Road 721, Paragould, driving while intoxicated — received 40 hours of public service, DWI school and ordered to pay a $500 fine and $300 in court costs.

• Shawn A. Petty, 47, 176 Craighead Road 716, Apt. 8, Jonesboro — received four days in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine, $150 in court costs and $80 in restitution.

• Randy L. Sullivan, 45, 512 North Third St., Jonesboro — received seven days in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine and $150 in court costs.

Also, for driving under suspension, Terry L. Henry Jr., 21, 107 West Fourth St., Jonesboro, received two days in jail and ordered to pay a $250 fine and $100 in court costs.

Trumann man accused of making meth

HARRISBURG — A Trumann man was arrested on Tuesday after the discovery of two methamphetamine labs in an oven, Poinsett County Sheriff Larry Mills said.

John Samuel Holmes, 34, 11958 Combs Lane, Trumann, was in his residence when an arrest warrant was served by Chief Deputy Chris Holt, Detective Mark Robinson and Lt. Brad Felkins, along with deputies and Trooper Rockey Rapert of the Arkansas State Police.

During the search, authorities found two active “1-pot” meth labs in an oven, Mills said. Authorities also allegedly found several items used in the manufacture of crystal meth.

Holmes was cited by deputies with manufacturing of crystal meth, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture.

Holmes is being held in the Poinsett County Detention Center awaiting a probable cause hearing before District Judge Steve Inboden today.

Man held on $7,500 on probation violation

JONESBORO — Probable cause was found Wednesday in Craighead County District Court to charge a Jonesboro man with a probation violation.

Judge Keith Blackman found probable cause to charge Jeremy Biggers, 33, 2620 Crawford St., Apt. 29, Jonesboro, with the crime.

Biggers was in police custody at the Craighead County Detention Center in Jonesboro in lieu of $7,500 bond.

Other bonds set Wednesday include:

• Probable cause was found to charge Bruce E. Thomas, 52, 1517 East Logan St., Jonesboro, with a probation violation. Thomas was in police custody in lieu of $5,000 bond.

• Probable cause was found to charge James A. Fair, 23, Jonesboro, with fourth-degree sexual assault. Fair was in police custody in lieu of $5,000 bond.

• Probable cause was found to charge Melody Johnson, 38, 112 Craighead Road 137, Bono, with second-degree forgery. Johnson was in police custody in lieu of $5,000 bond.

• Probable cause was found to charge Jeremy W. Smallwood, 27, 614 West Jefferson Ave., Jonesboro, with first-degree terroristic threatening. Smallwood was in police custody in lieu of $3,500 bond.

• Probable cause was found to charge Lakeesha Adams, 28, 1700 South Main St., Apt. B, Jonesboro, with theft of leased property. Adams was in police custody in lieu of $1,500 bond.

Computer, speakers, printer reported stolen

JONESBORO — A Jonesboro man reported on Tuesday that a Dell-brand computer, two modular speakers and a color printer were stolen.

Eugene Chamberlain, 179 Craighead Road 340, told Deputy Charles Leech of the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department that the equipment was valued at $1,400.

Chamberlain said he found the back door of the residence unlocked and “the door pulled to.” In addition, the garage door was open. Chamberlain said it and the other door had been locked when he left the home.

Truck reported stolen from nursery worker

JONESBORO — An employee of a Jonesboro nursery reported theft of a vehicle to police on Tuesday.

The employee of Bennett’s Nursery, Jonesboro, reported a white 1993 Ford F-150 XLT stolen between 10 a.m. Monday and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
